Kahn Brothers Press

Black Label Review
I am in love with this album - seriously, I am. The Kahn Brothers are on the right track and treading the same path that Ben Lee has been treading lately also - the path of what good music is about.

The songs are full of life and not over done as - let's face it - most albums are these days. Everyone is competing for the best producer, the biggest sounds and to be brutally honest - they just tend to sound like crap.

"Love Melts Fear" is a melodic album where every song is a good song; the musicians are great at what they do while not fighting for front and centre and you can tell they had a bloody great time creating it! Sarah Blasko and Jessy Chapnik add some nice colour to the harmonies.

Brothers Edo and Nadav Kahn were the core of Sydney rock band, Gelbison, for many years but their debut album under the Kahn Brothers puts these guys into a whole new musical area and one that is very very exciting for Australian music.

The album conjures up memories of being a kid hearing the classic artists like The Beatles, Neil Diamond, Simon & Garfunkle, Paul Kelly & Hunters & Collectors. The songs are simple and feel good but can be thought provoking on the more deep and meaningful tracks.

There's too many good songs to single any out ... but if I had to pick just one - "Love Melts Fear" - only because it's my favourite right now.

Already being heard on Triple J (thank God for Triple J!!) ... but with this much potential - hopefully the Kahn Brothers start to cross all boundaries and formats because they deserve to be heard!

Two final words - BUY IT.
